Hello, my name is Nicholos Hales. I live in Cary, NC, with my wonderful wife Bethany, and my two cats Jaws and Ms. Kitty. I recently graduated from NCCU Law (whewww), and am very interested in policy making. In politics, one thing I have noticed over the past few years is the bias and vast incompetence by our media. Many stories go unreported that, in a democracy, should never go unreported. With this blog I will attempt to not just convey news covered by other news sources. Rather, I will independently investigate stories, read legislation, commission reports, and regulations and give you the truth. In order for a democracy to survive, the people, the electorate, must have the information necessary to make wise political decisions. Unfortunately, for far too long both political parties have been giving endless bounds of misinformation. My politics are not that hard to understand. I am a fiscal conservative just as anybody in their right mind is. If you have a family and you are broke would you continue charging extravagant dinners on your credit card 4-5 nights per week? I think not. On the other hand, when it comes to social issues, I am of the opinion, that if it does not hurt me, or another, why should the government oppose it. Liberty should be objective in all facets. I do not follow the christian’s, atheist’s, muslim’s, or homo/heterosexual’s definition of liberty. Liberty in my view is the ultimate freedom to do with one’s life as he wishes, with minimal constraint from the government. If God gave us free will, why should government not? Keeping in mind this includes the freedom to keep the fruits of one’s own labor, economic freedom in a sense. This blog will focus on many areas of politics including national security, taxes, healthcare, defense, monetary policy, etc. I am tremendously interested in monetary policy and the majority of posts will likely focus on that. Most of all, I am excited to live in a country where I have the freedom to express myself in such a way, and I will fight to keep it that way until the day I die. Happy blogging!
